Dangerous Dan was yet another unique figure to Canada. Dan was 12” tall with a light blue poly-plastic Johnny West type body. Dan's accessories were Johnny West type molded in black soft vinyl and silver poly-plastic. His head is a long story. The Most desirable version has a Captain Maddox head with fuzzy flocked hair and beard. I have also seen many versions with a Sam Cobra style head, and a version with Sir Gordon the gold knight's head. I have heard of other dealers seeing the Cobra versions, but the Sir Gordon I am not sure of. Dangerous Dans are also rare boxed and are HTF loose in mint condition without flocking wear. Sam Cobra versions are about half the cost due to most collectors wanting the flocked versions. Dangerous Dan Boxes illustrate a Johnny West with a colored on beard. Marx did not get too creative here with a unique photo box for Dan. Nonetheless expect to pay $500 plus for a boxed flocked Maddox head version.
